I wish to acknowledge some of my precious mentors:
David Monongya, Hopi, Snake Clan
David and his wife Nora took me into their home and made it possible for me to stay with them for a month when I was a young, new mother, looking for a meaningful life. They taught me how to plant corn, how to speak to the plants, how to honor the earth and how to enjoy living a simple life.
Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, author of Death and Dying
Elisabeth taught me how to feel and express my emotions and how to drain my pool of sorrow and how to put down my anger and begin to forgive.
Stan Dale, producer of the Love, Intimacy and Sexuality Workshops
Stan Dale and both his wives, Helen and Janet, modeled for me a different way of life. Their workshops took me back to the beginning and grew me up as a human being, experiencing the unconditional love that I did not receive as a child. They helped me to accept my husband as he was so that we could experience true love before he died.
Dr. Lang, Spirit Guide
Dr. Lang was my father in a past life and he came to me in this life, to help me remember my connection with the Theosophists, reawakening my interest in the chakras and color healing.
Raylene Ha’alelea Kawaiae’a, Kumu Hula
Raylene shared the dance and the chants and the Aloha Spirit of Hawaii with her students, dreaming alive the ancient dances as she embodied all that she taught.
Rev. Helena Ram
From Seattle, Helana was my first spiritual teacher. She led me in a process called Spiritual Journeys, in which you travel on your Path, and encounter various things along the way, and ask for their meaning. It’s like a waking dream, complete with interpretation. I walked in Buddha’s Garden, and I met my Spirit Guides and I learned about color and also about self-healing. She had a big impact on me. I now teach Spiritual Journeys.
Bethel was my Reiki teacher (she initiated me in Second Degree Reiki) and also my Gestalt teacher. Having spent her time between British Columbia and Hawaii, she wrote a book, Gestalt and the Wisdom of the Kahunas. Bethel was a housewife until her children grew up and she went back to school at about 55. She became a student of Fritz Perls, the Father of Gestalt Therapy and also of Takata Sensei, the Mother of Usui Reiki. Bethel taught her classes at the Gestalt Land in the Kootenay Mountains of BC, and while we learned her methods, we all sat around holding each other and giving one another Reiki. That was in the early eighties.
Pink Tara, Goddess Energy
This precious being came to me as a Spirit Guide. She came in on the Pink heart ray of gentle strength. She taught me how to use my voice in amazing ways, and she taught me true compassion, which saved my relationship with my mother. She continues to share her deep wisdom and her profound understanding of human relationships with me and with my clients and students.
The Mineral Kingdom and Queendom
There are so many individual stones that have blessed me with their presence. They have lightened my load; they have loved me, nourished me, protected me, and comforted me. I love them as family and I feel loved by them and I welcome the opportunity to share their consciousness and wisdom with my students.
